From 1927 through 1933 teams were divided into “A” and “B” divisions.
Each District had the “A” (larger) schools in one bracket; the “B” (smaller) schools in the
other bracket; each bracket crowned a “winner” Saturday afternoon; the “winners” played
each other for the District title Saturday night; and both advanced to the Region the next week.
At the Region, the teams were again segregated by “A” and “B” in
the first two rounds, with the “winners” playing the final Saturday night.
